Life Poetry

Family Trip South

Capitol Reef expands

Monoliths reach skyward

Sun heats days

Hikes show views

Junipers dot hills

Red sand washes

Truck rumbles bumps

Lizards scurry hide

Overlooks extend horizons

Dutch oven simmers

Stars stamp night

Solitude creates vastness

Dedication: My Family. We enjoy our family trips to explore a variety of places. We rented a truck and headed to Cathedral Valley in Capitol Reef. We spent a long weekend enjoying the views and hikes and drives.

Why this poem: I have often been so excited to learn more about my ancestors that I don't leave a history of my own. I write in my journal and keep my pictures organized by date. Those have been my contribution to m life history, but recently I have been writing short poems to capture moments during my life. I hope they add to my life history.
