Throw Away Pile

 

I often have people ask me if they can throw their photos away. Everyone has some of these blurry, over exposed photos. They also have photos without names or date, or pictures of building or a river. Some people chuck them all without a thought and other hold on to them waiting for permission to get rid of them.

A list of pros and cons can be written about why or why not to keep photos, but I feel it is more helpful to consider these ten questions to decide if you should keep or toss your photos.

1. Where will you store the photos?
2. How will they be used?
3. Do you know the people in these photos?
4. Do you have time to learn who is in these photos?
5. How will you emotionally feel if you throw them away?
6. Do you want to digitize them?
7. Do you want these in a book?
8. Why do you want to do with you photos?
9. Do you want to write a story about the photos?
10. How and who will she share your photos with?
